    About Haze Guitars

Have you ever wanted something a little different in an electric guitar or bass? Ever thought that the instruments readily available on the market today, although great, are just not quite you? Ever wished that you could get an instrument designed and built to your own specifications that will look, feel and perform exactly the way you want it to?

Gerry Hayes of Haze Guitars specialises in designing and building custom electric guitars and basses. Perhaps you're looking for a design similar to a commercially available model but with features or modifications unique to you. On the other hand, maybe you want a completely new or radical design. Haze Guitars can help to see the project through from conception to the moment when you strum that first chord - you can quite literally 'have it your way'.

Gerry Hayes has been modifying, hot-rodding, designing and making electric guitars and basses for years. A one-man operation, he has made instruments in numerous different styles with different materials and hardware. His modifications to existing designs can change the way an instrument looks, sounds and plays.

Whatever it is you want in a guitar, chances are we can help out. We can help with initial design work - figuring out what is and isn't practical or realistic. We can help with the specification phase - advising on wood choice, hardware and finishing options. Lastly (and most importantly) we can build whatever your dream guitar happens to be.

Haze Guitars don't just offer you a couple of models and ask you to pick one to which you can specify a colour or pickup choice and very little else. We build real custom guitars. We will participate in a full design project if that's what you require. Your guitar will not be a 'production line' instrument, but will be the result of a lot of phone conversations, emails and face to face meetings. Each step will be to assess what you want.

To see something of what is possible in a custom made guitar, take a look at the examples and specs in the Custom Guitar & Bass page. You can also take a look at the Design Considerations page to learn a little about the things you need to think about when considering a custom instrument.
